LONGBOAT KEY, Fla. — AGCF, a luxury accessories company founded by Alexandra Gucci Zarini, opened a boutique Thursday at The St. Regis Longboat Key Resort, marking the company’s first East Coast location.
The boutique is AGCF’s second, following its flagship location on North Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. It is located in the lobby of the St. Regis resort on Longboat Key.
The opening also continues a connection between the Gucci family and the St. Regis brand that dates to 1960, when Aldo Gucci opened a store for the family business at The St. Regis New York. The store was located on the 55th Street side of the hotel, next to the Gucci family’s Fifth Avenue store.
AGCF said its Longboat Key location is intended to continue that family connection more than six decades later.
“My grandfather understood that the world’s great hotels are where luxury lives,” Alexandra Gucci Zarini, founder of AGCF, said in a press release. “For me, returning to St. Regis is not nostalgia. It is a continuation, with a new purpose at its heart: the protection of children.”
The boutique carries handbags and small leather goods made in family-owned workshops, as well as silk scarves, jewelry and eyewear.
AGCF is a Delaware Public Benefit Corporation. The company said a portion of proceeds from its collections supports organizations focused on the protection and well-being of children.
The opening coincides with a partnership between AGCF and the World Childhood Foundation through the company’s Color of Hope collection. Twenty percent of proceeds from products in AGCF’s signature green will support Childhood USA, the U.S. chapter of the World Childhood Foundation.
The St. Regis Longboat Key Resort is located on Sarasota’s barrier island and opened as an 18-acre beachfront resort.
AGCF was founded by Alexandra Gucci Zarini, granddaughter of Aldo Gucci, and operates its flagship boutique at 479 N. Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. The company sells handbags, leather goods, scarves, jewelry and eyewear.
