Pier 22 on the Downtown Bradenton Waterfront

1 min read

IMG_4430.JPGBRADENTON – Florida is filled with waterfront restaurants, and one of the more delightful is Pier 22 in downtown Bradenton. Located in a handsome 1928 building, the sitting is historic, unfussy and unpretentious.

Breezes are usually plentiful, and the marina is filled with gorgeous cabin cruisers.

There is a large outdoor area, as well as indoor seating and a marina-side bar. The menu is heavy on seafood, with extensive sushi options. Parking is easy.

The service is friendly and local, and not too chatty, unless you wish. It’s a step above the dreadful Margaritaville-type marina restaurants, which are really just drinking spots. Dinners come with hot rolls and water served with lemon in heavy tumblers.

The location in downtown Bradenton is not packed with tourists; you have to know how to find out. However, it is near the South Florida Museum downtown, and the newly renovated Hampton Inn.
