BOCA GRANDE – Gasparilla Island’s defining historical element is the old railroad line that still bisects the island as a biking and walking path. In downtown, the old railroad station still remains, with shops, all right in the middle of town.
At the south end of the station is the Loose Caboose, a lunch eatery and cafe. Subs, sandwiches, that sort of thing, either indoors or along the sidewalk.
