MIAMI – One of the country’s most acclaimed celebrity chefs, Todd English, is serving up his renowned Mediterranean-style fare in a brand new restaurant at Macy’s at The Gardens Mall.
Here, in a setting created for Macy’s, English will open his third Figs eatery – the first for Macy’s – in a sit-down restaurant that is a throwback to the department stores of yore.
“As we prepare to launch more partner food concepts at select Macy’s around the country, we are working hand in hand with the chefs of our Culinary Council to refresh and re-energize the marketplace. It is particularly exciting to have a chef of Todd English’s caliber work with us to create the ultimate shopping experience for our customers,” says Warren Wolfe, vice president of Macy’s Food Division, in a Macy’s corporate press release.
There are three other of Todd English’s Figs, two in Massachusetts and one at LaGuardia Airport. Dishes include as Crispy Asparagus Frites on a Bed of Arugula Drizzled with Honey Mustard Aioli, Old School Tuscan Bolognese tossed with Fontina Burro Fuso and Dusted with Freshly Grated Parmesan, and Greek Style Pizza blended with White Bean Hummus, Olives, Feta, Shaved Red Onion, Cucumber, Tomato and Romaine create the perfect warm weather repast, even in sunny Florida.
“I have a tremendous respect for the Mediterranean fare,” said English in the Macy’s Florida press release. “There is an innate appreciation for the simplest of ingredients, for taking a dish down to its most basic components and allowing each one to shine. With Figs and my partnership with Macy’s, I’m able to interpret some of these rustic classics for an entirely new audience.”
