Vulcan Rocket Launches at Cape with National Security USSF-106

CAPE CANAVERAL – On August 12, 2025, a United Launch Alliance Vulcan rocket successfully launched the USSF-106 mission for the U.S. Space Force from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station’s Space Launch Complex-41 at 8:56 p.m. EDT.

The 202-foot-tall Vulcan, powered by the advanced Centaur V upper stage, delivered the USSF-106 spacecraft directly to Geosynchronous Earth Orbit. ULA’s Gary Wentz emphasized the rocket’s precision and power, while CEO Tory Bruno called Vulcan a game-changer for national defense in space.

This marked the first National Security Space Launch for the Vulcan rocket, a next-generation vehicle designed to enhance U.S. space capabilities.The 202-foot-tall Vulcan, powered by the advanced Centaur V upper stage, delivered the USSF-106 spacecraft directly to Geosynchronous Earth Orbit.
