WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Florida Crystals has reached a new benchmark at its compost facility in Pahokee, producing 100,000 tons of compost in one season. The site is part of the company’s sugar milling complex and supports its broader regenerative agriculture practices.

The facility processes sugarcane leaves, recovered soil, and fiber ash to produce compost that is used across the company’s organic farms. Roughly 80% of materials are transported via conveyor or pipe, reducing emissions from vehicle transport. The company operates the facility on an eight-month schedule, with compost production aligned to the sugarcane harvest.
Florida Crystals also unveiled updated packaging for its Regenerative Organic Certified (ROC) raw cane sugar. The certification reflects compliance with standards in soil health, animal welfare, and labor practices.
Additional initiatives include the use of barn owl habitats as part of a pest management program and the introduction of ROC™ Organic Heat Treated Rice Flour to its product line.
Florida Crystals remains the only U.S. grower of ROC-certified sugarcane. The company reports increased demand for regenerative ingredients from food and beverage manufacturers.
